QM is pleased to offer for sale several signed novels from Elmore Leonard (1925-2013).  Leonard is known as the ‘Dickens of Detroit’, more so for his sparse dialogue and gritty hard-boiled writing. In his essay "Elmore Leonard's Ten Rules of Writing" he said: "My most important rule is one that sums up the 10: ‘If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it’." He also said: "I try to leave out the parts that readers tend to skip.”  After an early career stint in advertising, he published in the 1950’s Westerns but went on to specialize in crime fiction and suspense thrillers, many adapted into motion pictures, including but not limited to Hombre, Get Shorty, Out of Sight, 3:10 to Yuma, the Tall T, the television show, Justified.  Among other honors, he won the 2009 Pen Lifetime Award and the 2012 Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters.
